Tuesdays 2:00 - 2:55 pm / Ms. Aila & Ms. Emily

(Grades 2-5*)

Using everyday materials — from LEGO® bricks and magnet tiles to paper, string, and plastic cups — students tackle engineering challenges through hands-on, project-based learning. Projects may span multiple weeks, giving students time to build, test, refine, and improve their designs. Along the way, students discover how the things they build connect to real-world structures and systems — bridges, towers, machines, and more — developing creative problem-solving skills in the process.

This class is part of our new Afternoon Explorers series — a flexible, project-based program that groups students by learning style and interests rather than strictly by age, with some lesson differentiation across the range. Other classes in the series include Animals & Zoology (Tuesdays), Art Lab and The Great Outdoors (Thursdays).

*Students in grades 6–8 are welcome to inquire about enrollment, space permitting.

This class is planned to continue through both semesters.
