Playing with Music

(Grades K-5)

In this lively, engaging class, students explore music through rhythm, movement, listening, and playful activities. We’ll sample classic and modern rock — along with other kid-friendly genres — to hear how styles and sounds have evolved. Students will try body percussion, simple rhythm games, singing, and creating basic patterns and beats. We’ll also learn about different musical instruments and experiment with making a few simple ones of our own. The goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help kids discover the joy of music across eras, genres, and creative expression.
